We started a YouTube channel.

„We should start a YouTube channel“

„We should film that and put it on YouTube“

So, its exactly what we did.

Starting a YouTube channel has felt daunting for so many reasons. The biggest reason most likely is the “unknown”. Stepping out of our comfort zone.

If you are reading this then it means we have just released our very first YouTube video. Although it took longer and was more challenging than expected (1 week delay), it was a really fun process and we enjoyed the build up, the filming as well as the editing.

We plan on filming and uploading various content of our “daily lives”. The videos will range from sport & wellness; travel; houseplants & home improvements to name a few.

With each video that is released it is our intention to create a blog post specifically about the thought process, any issues we may have encountered or lessons learnt as well as the actual point of the video.

This is an exciting journey and how amazing is it to live in a time where we are fortunate enough to have a platform on which we can upload our very own home videos.

Social media doesn’t have to be the enemy if you know how to use it to your advantage.

We hope you enjoy our first video!

Tip 1: Just get it out

In almost every bit of research we did about getting started, the recommendation was to just to it and not let anything hold you back. The logic being that you should just overcome the hurdle of clicking “publish“ on the first video. It made sense, and we thought we were doing well with out progress on the first video until we neared completion of the edit and slowly but surely the thought of “maybe we should just add one more thing“ kept popping up. So first advice would be, stop trying to get it perfect, the first video will be bad. But a published video is still better than an ever improving draft.
