365project: Day 3
Day 3.
Still in Amsterdam Noord.
Its obviously early days with the challenge and although many of the problems I’m facing now would have been avoided if I planned the process more thoroughly. Starting the challenge at all would have also been avoided if I planned it anymore. See overcoming resistance.
I did realise today that some planning would be good to overcome decision paralysis. I decided that I will put some time and effort into either creating a photo calendar based on where I know I will be during the coming year, or a photo bucket list of sorts to guide the decision-making for what photo to look for on any given day.
Today my photo hunt was governed or rather motivated by the weather. For the first time in a while, we are having some cloud cover which always adds drama to photos.
I packed my camera, put on my shoes, and waited. It had started to rain.
Luckily not for long and I was out the door. I figured ill head for the Ij which is the large river splitting Amsterdam Noord from the city center. This would provide me with some open space to actually capture the majestic clouds as a backdrop.
I passed a guy working out at a public punching bag but found myself unwilling or unable to muster up the courage to ask if I can take photos of him. I had a similar experience passing a skatepark on day one. Some great photos are coming once I’ve overcome the barrier of talking to strangers.
For now, the silhouette bird statue proved to be a more comfortable muse.
Day 4 will be interesting as it will be the first full work day on the challenge.
Bring it on.
