365project: Day 7
Day 7. First week down. 51 to go.
As crazy as it sounds, 51 weeks feel like an achievable goal having completed one.
So far each day has presented some form of challenge and day 7 was no exception. Im not sure by which day, if any, there will no longer be any new challenges? I hope not, how else will I learn.
What day 7 entailed was the first day of working from the office. An exciting prospect since it forced my hand to leave Amsterdam Noord for the first time since the challenge started. We do live in a bit of a bubble here and pretty much never need to go south of the Ij. I took my camera with to the office with the hope of spotting something interesting sometime throughout the day. Our offices are in the south east of Amsterdam so I do cross quite a large part of town on my commute.
Life happens though, and due to never really seeing colleagues thanks to hybrid working, post work drinks were in order. Super fun, but I was uncomfortably aware of the remainder of the day slipping away from me, with each new round.
Sun having set, I made my way home and could only think of one potential photo opportunity. And its a goodie.
It is once again an obvious photo for the location, but the seemingly floating houses of Damrak are probably one of the most famous photo spots in Amsterdam. I have taken some photos there before as well, but never at night so this provided a great opportunity for some long exposures. I would definitely like to intentionally visit Damrak a couple of times over the coming year and actually visualise what elements could be introduced to get the best possible photo. For now, this one would have to do.
Bring on day 8!
