365project: Day 8

Day 8.

For day 8 I kept it quite simple. I have previously considered to make a point of getting my photo early and then having the freedom for the rest of the day to either look for a better one, or be comfortable knowing I at least already have one. This time around I was somewhat influenced by a recent interest in my social media on macro flower photography. And as the trees are slowly and somewhat early starting to lose their leaves and their colour, I thought I should probably take some photos of flowers before they all disappear.

I was even pleasantly surprised to find out that there are some heather fields in the Netherlands. I’m not sure what the fuss is about as I haven’t seen any in person yet but, referring to Nigel again, I know he can work some magic with the heather fields in the UK so it would be great to try my hand at it as well. Maybe there is still some time in the coming weeks to make a point to go and see them in bloom. Some internet research points to the east of the Netherlands but the photo I saw on social media was on Texel island, which would possibly be a more interesting day trip.

Regarding todays photo, I was particularly intrigued by the amazing colour of the flowers across the street for some time now but kept putting off having a closer look. So for today I decided that Ill make it my photo of the day. The flowers were quite high off the ground so the angle is not exactly what I wanted, but to me the colour came out well.

For day 9, a Saturday, we are planning on going into Amsterdam city centre for a bit, so Ill probably take a photo of a canal or a church.

Let’s see!
